Thermotransformation
Thermotransformation of wood is a process by which heat is used to improve the characteristics of this material.
This ecological process using Perdure technology allows, among other things, to extract the humidity from the wood and to improve its' characteristics in order to obtain a more durable, more stable, aesthetic and ecological material. Thus, this added value makes it possible to multiply the uses of this material that has become revolutionary!
Method
Wood is heated in an oven fuelled with propane gas that can hold 4,500 pmp. Guided by a precise procedure, established according to the essence used and the dimension of the pieces of wood, the operator of the oven increases the temperature progressively to the desired temperature. Once reached, a temperature stabilization period is maintained for a predetermined duration and then a cooling cycle by steam injection begins and there fore ends the process of thermotransformation. This procedure takes place over a period varying between 12 and 15 hours. |
